I believe the stories we tell about ourselves help us make sense of who we are and give deep meaning to our lives. For me, therapy is a space where those stories can be explored with compassion and curiosity.
There are many reasons why people seek therapy. Some come due to emotional distress, or significant life transitions. Others find themselves repeating familiar patterns in relationships, work, or other areas of their life, and want to better understand why. Therapy is your place to reflect and speak without inhibition.
My approach to therapy is interpersonal and psychodynamic. A line of Kierkegaard’s that resonates with me is “life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forward.” Together, we can explore how past experiences continue to shape the present.
Before becoming a therapist, I studied English literature at the University of Cambridge and worked in advertising and marketing. Across all the different chapters in my life, I have always been drawn to the question of how we make sense of ourselves and of our experiences. I am fascinated by the stories we tell about ourselves, the stories we inherit from our families, and how they shape us into the people we become.
Originally from England and now living in New York, I bring both personal and professional experience about navigating change, transition, and reinvention.
