Shuwen Yang, LMSW (she/hers)
Shuwen holds a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University, where she specialized in both clinical practice and advocacy. She approaches her work with a system-level perspective, thoughtfully considering the strengths and challenges embedded in her clients' environments. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Shuwen leverages her cross-cultural expertise to offer nuanced support and attuned care to those she serves.
Shuwen believes therapy is a collaborative process where we explore challenges together—whether related to anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationships, or cultural identity. Her approach is client-centered and fluid, blending insight-building with practical strategies from CBT and mindfulness to create meaningful change. She works with individuals to help them navigate personal growth, communication, and the complexities of multicultural identities, acculturation, and generational dynamics. Her goal is to provide a supportive space where her clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped with tools that truly fit their lives.
